Executive Pastor
Rod grew up in Covina, received his B.A. from UC Irvine, and his M. Div. from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary. He has a heart for outreach and discipleship and teaching God’s word. His life verse is Luke 9:23 “Then He said to them all, if anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” He has served as a Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Senior Pastor at Harbor Trinity Church where he retired after 37 years of ministry. He met his wife, Leigh, while they were on a summer project with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) in San Diego. They have been married for 39 years and have three adult children and two grandchildren. When it comes to freetime, his interests are ever changing, but the current list includes scuba diving, woodworking, darts, fishing and tennis.
Office Administration
Cheyenne grew up in Costa Mesa, but she proudly calls Tustin home, where she has lived most of her life. She and her husband, Mitch, have been married and attending Lighthouse since 2024, and together they joyfully serve in youth ministry. Having walked with the Lord since the age of eleven, Cheyenne has a deep love for seeing others grow in their faith. Her life verse that guides her daily is Luke 9:23, ” Then He said to them all, ” If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. “
Events Coordinator
Rachel has the joy of co-leading women’s Bible study at Lighthouse community church, where she is passionate about helping women grow in their understanding of God’s word and encouraging them in their walk with Christ. Rachel also coordinates and facilitates events held at the church. Her heart is deeply rooted in serving the church and building meaningful connections with the body of Christ. Rachel and her husband have been members of Lighthouse for five years, and are grateful to call this community our home. They met in Costa Mesa over 30 years ago, and it’s the city where they’ve build their life together and raised their two sons. Their boys are now grown, and one of whom is married. A verse that has guided her life is 2 Timothy 2:15, which says, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not beed to be ashamed and who correctly handles the truth.”
Finance and Facilities
Robyn has lived in Costa Mesa/Huntington Beach her entire life. She and her husband, Mark, have two grown children, Matthew and Sarah, as well as two young grandchildren, James and Lucy. Robyn has worked at Lighthouse for over 20 years, starting in the front office. She now oversees the finances for both the church and preschool, as well as coordinating all facility operations. Her passion is singing and she is blessed to lead worship a couple times a month. She is a diehard Angels fan…win or lose!
Lil’ Lighthouse Preschool Director
Marge was born on a dairy farm in the great state of Wisconsin. She moved to Southern California in the fall of 1977 where she began her teaching career at a Christian school near Disneyland. She and her husband, Nissim, have a daughter Gloria who keeps them busy and young!! Marge is passionate about sharing the love of God with the preschoolers and their families. Her life verse is Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” She also loves Bible studies, walking, biking, and cheering on the Packers, Badgers, and Bucks.
Children’s Ministry Director
Janelle serves as the Children’s Ministry Director with a heart fully devoted to helping children know and experience the love of God. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Counseling and is passionate about creating a nurturing, faith-filled environment where children feel seen, known, and deeply loved. Janelle is married to her husband, Jeremy, and together they enjoy life with their kitty cat. Whether she’s teaching, encouraging, or serving, her life verse reflects her heart for ministry: “Let all that you do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:14. In her free time, you’ll find Janelle empowering others to care for their bodies through movement, enjoying long walks or hikes, biking with her hubby, spending time with family, and proudly embracing her role as Auntie to 14 nieces and nephews.
