Our church is led by a board of elders and pastors, who pray and care for the spiritual lives of our members. Get to know the leaders of Lighthouse below.

JEFF LEE

Senior Pastor

Pastor Jeff Lee was born in Newport Beach and grew up in Orange County. He received his MA in Christian Education and a BA in Leadership. Jeff has a heart for evangelism and enjoys volunteering as a local Police Chaplain.  His favorite Bible passage is 1 Corinthians 9:16-23 which defines his call, “I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.” He and his wife, Jennifer, were married in 1985 and are grateful to have spent the last 30 years doing ministry together. They have three grown children, four grandsons, and one granddaughter. In his free time, Jeff can be found at the golf course or at the beach fishing.  He also loves teaching people to fish, so grab a rod and come join him.

JOHN JURCZAK

Elder

John was born and raised in rural Michigan. His hometown was small with a population of fewer than 300 people. He attended Michigan State University and after graduating, he joined the United States Marine Corp and served on active duty from 1966-1969. He is a Vietnam veteran serving from 1967-68. He married his wife Cathy in 1969 and recently celebrated 54 years together. They have lived in Huntington Beach for almost 40 years. Kathy was a high school Spanish teacher and still works as a substitute in the Huntington Beach School District. They have two sons, Brian and Michael, both married, and two grandsons, Henry and Xavier. John retired from Mars, Inc after 20 years where he was Director of Raw Material Purchasing. He has been a member of Lighthouse for over 15 years.and was both humbled and honored to be asked to serve as an Elder.

ROBERT MAXWELL

Elder

Robert attended Newport Harbor High and Oakton High School, then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Cal State Dominguez Hills. He and his wife, Debbie, have been members of Lighthouse Community Church for the last few years. They were married in 1982 after participating in premarital counseling which helped prepare them for many wonderful years of married life together. They have two grown children and five grandchildren. Both their son and daughter live in Orange County and as such, they get to spend lots of time with their grandkids, which is a real blessing. Early in their marriage they attended big Calvary for a short time, but realized they needed to be in a smaller church where they could be accountable and get to know people as they served the Lord. Over the years Robert has led bible studies and home groups, and served in men’s ministries and children’s ministries. Additionally, he was a treasurer and assistant treasurer

TOM PHIPPS

Elder

Tom was born and raised in Long Beach, CA and accepted Jesus when he was 9 years old. He’s been married to Teri, a woman of God , for over 50 years and together they have 6 grand children. Tom and Teri love their church home and are grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord here. He is a prayer warrior who loves interceding for our church. Tom also serves in a men’s ministry called Influencers that connects men from over 40 churches in Orange County. He is also involved in men’s bible study here at Lighthouse on Wednesday nights.

DEE RENFRO

Elder

Dee grew up in Corona del Mar, surfing, sailing and swimming. After college, he followed his father into the insurance trade. He and his wife Connie have raised four daughters and are blessed with thirteen grandchildren! Dee and Connie have been part of Lighthouse Church for close to two decades, and many years they’ve co-led a life group in their home.

RICH ROUPOLI

Elder

Rich and his family have been members of Lighthouse Community Church since the merger with First Baptist Church in 1998. He and Joyce have been married for 40 years and have been serving at Lighthouse in various capacities. He currently leads a life group and coordinates the Men’s breakfast. He first served as a Deacon, became an Elder in 2005 and has served an additional five terms. He retired in 2010 from the Los Angeles Police Department as a Deputy Chief after 35 years of service.
