Serving The Community

We grow when we put what we have learned into practice. Therefore, we encourage you to serve⎯whether within the church, in our community, or around the world – because service leads to life-change.

Serve Our Church

Our church is volunteer driven. We have many opportunities for you to invest yourself here at Lighthouse. Below are just a few of the many ways we could use your help.

WELCOME TEAM

Leader: Charlie Massingill

From greeting our guests with a smile to handing them a bulletin and answering any questions they might have, the welcome team plays an integral role in making people feel at home.

WORSHIP TEAM / AV TEAM

Leader: Bill Nelson

The worship team helps prepare our church to connect with God. There are several ways you can serve: either on stage as part of the worship team, or behind the scenes as part of our Audio-Visual team. Both are integral parts of our worship experience. If you have a desire to use your gifts for God’s glory, then we would love to have you join our team.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY TEAM

Leader: Cheri Rothenberg

One of the greatest investments you can make is investing in the next generation. Each Sunday, our children gather in age-appropriate settings to do crafts, play games and learn about God in a safe, loving environment. If you would like to pour into the future of the church, then we’d love to talk to you about serving in our children’s ministry.

Serve Our Community

God is doing amazing things in our community, and we look
for ways to join Him in radiating His love to our neighbors.
Our church partners with local nonprofits and other churches
to serve our city in the name of Jesus.

Serve Our World

The mandate to love our neighbors transcends borders. In addition to organizing mission trips throughout the year, Lighthouse supports a number of missionaries who are advancing the gospel around the world.

COSTA RICA MISSIONARIES

Don crossed the Atlantic from his home in South Africa when he was in his 20’s as a crewmember on a small sailboat (without any prior sailing experience). Don met Jill, an Orange County native who has a heart for missions, about 38 years ago. They are now serving God in Costa Rica through their non-profit, Amor Costa Rica/Trellis.  They have adapted the Trellis vision with a goal of bringing the churches and community together to serve the needs of those in this Central American country. They have established five free English classes attended by more than 60 locals of all ages, because knowing English is the key to economic opportunity there.  They are also helping numerous families and individuals who have limited resources with food, school supplies, and job training.

WYCLIFFE BIBLE TRANSLATORS

Missionaries: Craig and Sarah Marshall

Craig and Sarah love being a part of helping to get God’s Word into the hands of those waiting to hear, and watching people have their aha moments as the Word speaks into lives. The Marshalls work in Southeast Asia in partnership with a large regional church denomination. Craig and Sarah worked alongside the Iyaru team, completing the New Testament in 2016, and now are helping consult and train other teams. Craig is also leading the Bible translation office of our main church partner, working towards a sustainable long-term plan for getting Bible translations underway for all the languages that need it in this region.  They long to see lives changed as people interact with the translated Word of God and come to understand the depth of God’s love for us all. Please prayerfully consider joining their Wycliffe ministry team through prayer and/or financial partnership.

INTERNATIONAL EVANGELISM MINISTRY

Missionary: Marty and Becca Hooper

Marty Hooper, founder of International Evangelism Ministry, has traveled to more than 30 countries to evangelize and train leaders. When he and his wife Becca are not evangelizing across the globe, he loves to come alongside pastors and leaders within the church to equip them to reach their community with the good news of Jesus Christ.
